Who we are

Brascoe Publishing is a really small business (micro business perhaps?), we are Foss and Leticia – and collaboratively we produce innovative works and publications in print and online, and do a whole range of other interesting things – like build e-learning modules as consultants, and advise on social networking. Our skills overlap, but not entirely: Foss, for instance, is a photographer and aesthetics extraordinaire, while Leticia is more word-and-technology focused. Having a green outlook in everything that we do, and in everything we consume in our personal lives, our business could not exist unless it did so with the same values.

Our business has values and morals…

Brascoe Publishing is driven by two primary values: respecting the environment, and supporting our local community.

In the former it means that we subscribe to an eco-ethos: we have a ‘no-pulp’ policy, we use green printing processes and recycled paper, and we try to make sure that everything is used twice. We also try to use public transport, wherever possible, in heading out to see our clients. We believe that being on friendly terms with the environment isn’t just about a reaction to climate change, but that it’s an essential way of living and working.

Unlike many businesses, we also understand that an eco-ethos isn’t something you talk about, or write off so you can erase your carbon footprint: it’s about water usage, the origins of what you use, and creating a little green ‘microcosm’ that is a complete lifestyle.

We support our local community by banking with community banks, using other small businesses to which to outsource printing and supplies, and shopping locally whenever we can. We go to great (sometimes extreme) lengths to keep our business local, which often means a great deal of research time in order to find those hidden local gems of businesses to work with.
- not to mention a sense of fun!…

We also both have a strong sense of humour, which comes through in our business name. The business is named ‘brascoe’ because a) in today’s busy society it is increasingly becoming the case that everyone (from mums to CEOs) only get five minutes to themselves in the brascoe. What better place than that to catch up on some reading! And b) a country’s language is integral to its culture; hence the use of a slang word (yes, ‘brascoe’ is old Aussie slang for ‘toilet’!) as our name.

… and is still filled with passion

Our other passions extend to live music and youth culture, and so put a lot of time and effort into producing, and being active within the editorial team of, the world’s most unique online metal music magazine. This zine is unique because it has a strong industry component for those who seek information, tips, and guidelines on getting into the industry.

But it’s our clients who really deserve all the praise

The thing that we pride ourselves on most is our commitment to our clients, and going that extra mile whenever we can to make sure that their projects and requirements exceed even their own expectations. All of our clients have helped us along, believed in us, and supported what we support too. We always get great feedback from people that we work with. Our philosophy of customer relations isn’t to get the most money out of them, but to work with like-minded people so we can all reach the same goals in the best, most harmonious way.

In fact, we often find that our clients turn into good friends. In small business, we think that’s the ideal outcome.
